Programme Manager at Girl Effect
Girl Effect is a creative non-profit organization that empowers girls to transform their lives. The Nike Foundation founded us, and we specialize in media, mobile, brand, and international development, providing a distinctive blend of expertise to address global challenges in creative ways.
Operating worldwide, particularly in areas where girls face marginalization and vulnerability, we engage with young people in formats they enjoy and interact with daily. Our initiatives range from skill-building apps to TV dramas addressing critical issues, to magazines written by girls themselves.
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Programme Manager based in Abuja, Nigeria.
Context of the Job
- The Programme Manager will oversee the implementation of Girl Effect’s projects in Nigeria, focusing on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs for adolescent girls and young women.
- This role requires extensive experience in SRH program implementation and establishing strategic partnerships with donors, governments, and communities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, implement, and monitor SRH programs, collaborating with project teams and implementing partners.
- Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans for each project, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Manage project implementation, ensuring quality outputs within budget and timelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders and other partners at various levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to articulate Girl Effect’s unique approach to programming for girls and inform strategic planning.
Experience and Education Required:
- Master’s Degree in International Development or Public Health.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience designing and implementing programs in Health and SRHR in Nigeria, with budgets of approximately USD 500k at the sub-national level.
- Experience working with Child Protection or Safeguarding is desirable.
- Familiarity with Gender and Gender Transformative Approaches is highly desirable.
