APPLY: University of Port Harcourt Post-UTME/Direct Entry 2024

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) hereby invites candidates who chose the University as First Choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 160, to apply for Post-UTME Screening Exercise for admission into the University, and also Candidates who chose the University of Port Harcourt for Direct Entry Admission are hereby requested to apply for screening for admission into the University.

Admission

Registration will commence on Wednesday, 24th July, 2024 and close on Friday, 19th August, 2024. CANDIDATES WHO FAIL TO REGISTER WITHIN THE REGISTRATION PERIOD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SCREENING EXERCISE.bCandidates should visit the University website www.uniport.edu.ng and adhere strictly to the Registration Procedure.

UTME Registration Procedure

  • 2024 UTME candidate click https://utmedetails.uniport.edu.ng/welcome_utme.php to login for the registration procedure.
  • Eligible candidates; input your UTME Registration Number and confirm pre-loaded UTME details.
  • Generate Remita Code for payment with your Master, Visa or Verve Card etc. OR Print out Payment Slip and proceed to any of the following Banks with Remita Platform (ACCESS BANK PLC, ECOBANK PLC, FIDELITY BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC, FCMB, UBA PLC, AND UNIPORT-CHOBA MICROFINANCE BANK) and make payment of N2,000.00 only.
  • Obtain a Remita Receipt showing an Access Code from the Bank Teller confirming the payment.
  • Proceed online again and Login with your UTME Registration Number and the Access Code on the payment slip, from Wednesday, 24th July, 2024.
  • Complete the Form online as requested. Candidates who are awaiting their O’Level Result(s) should so indicate.
  • Click on the “submit button” and print Registration Slip for the Screening Exercise.

Direct Entry Registration Procedure

  • Candidates who chose the University of Port Harcourt for Direct Entry Admission are hereby requested to apply for screening by logging in to the https://utmedetails.uniport.edu.ng/welcome_de.php and complete a Form online, to provide information on:
    1. Name
    2. Course
    3. Qualifying Examination(s) for Direct Entry Admission
    4. Results obtained from Qualifying Examinations (O’level, and A’Level/Diploma/NCE/JUPEB/IJMB and Degree), showing the pass level and points.
    5. Candidate’s JAMB Registration Number.
  • Input your JAMB Registration Numbers and confirm pre-loaded JAMB details.
  • Generate Remita Code for payment with your Master, Visa or Verve Card, etc. OR Print out Payment Slip and Proceed to any of the following Banks with Remita Platform (ACCESS BANK PLC, ECOBANK PLC, FIDELITY BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC, FCMB, UBA PLC, AND UNIPORT-CHOBA MICROFINANCE BANK) and make a payment of N2,000.00 only.
  • Obtain a Remita Receipt showing an Access Code from the Bank Teller confirming the payment. 
  • Proceed online again and login with your JAMB Registration Numbers and the Access Code on the Payment Slip.
  • Complete the Form online as requested.
  • Proceed to the Admissions Office to submit the documents – photocopy of JAMB Slip, Birth Certificate/Age Declaration, O’Level Examination Results (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB), A’Level/Diploma/NCE/JUPEB/IJMB and Degree Results, showing CGPA as applicable. Alternatively, the requested documents can be mailed by courier to: The Admissions Officer, University of Port Harcourt, Choba, P.M.B. 5323, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

NOTE

  • Inconsistency in the name or picture on the Registration Slip is not acceptable to the University and may lead to disqualification of affected candidates.  Candidates’ names on their O’Level and A'Le el Certificates/Result Slips, UTME Results and other registration documents must be the same.
  • Candidates MUST be sixteen (16) years of age or above by October 2024, to be eligible for the exercise.
  • Mobile Phones, iPads, iPods, Walkman and similar gadgets or any extraneous materials will not be allowed into the Screening Venue and its environs.
  • Candidates must apply within the Registration Period as the online link for the Application Form will be disabled at MID-NIGHT ON FRIDAY, 16th AUGUST, 2024.
  • Registration is online, therefore, candidates are not expected to be present physically on the University Campus but are advised to register from any location.
  • Candidates who chose the University as their second choice and wish to be considered for admission can apply for the Screening Exercise ONLY when they have made a change to the University of Port Harcourt as their First Choice.
  • Candidates must ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB website as soon as possible as those who do not, will not be considered for admission.
  • Candidates must ensure that they register with their own valid personal telephone (GSM) numbers and email addresses.
  • Further details and schedule of the Screening Exercise will be announced in due course. Candidates should, therefore, check the University website from time to time.
    • When the Screening Exercise is scheduled Candidates must report to the designated Screening Venues as scheduled or risk disqualification.
  • PARENTS AND GUARDIANS, AS WELL AS UNINVITED SECURITY AGENTS,WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE CAMPUS ON THE DAYS OF THE SCREENING EXERCISE.
