Job Overview:

The Senior Finance Officer will manage and oversee complex financial operations, including preparing management accounts, leading treasury functions, and handling comprehensive account settlements and reconciliations. This role is ideal for an experienced professional committed to ensuring financial integrity through effective controls, in-depth analysis, and continuous improvement in financial processes. The Senior Finance Officer will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management Accounts: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Oversee the financial closing process for accurate and timely reporting. Provide insights and variance reports to management.
• Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct detailed financial analysis focusing on profitability, cost management, and operational efficiency. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting business performance and support long-term financial planning. Prepare financial reports and presentations for executives.
• Treasury Management: Manage daily cash flow, liquidity monitoring, and investment activities. Develop cash flow forecasts to ensure liquidity. Manage banking relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Account Settlement & Reconciliation: Oversee complex account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate reconciliation processes. Regularly review and enhance procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
• Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audit preparations, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal controls. Implement audit recommendations and maintain best practices in financial management.

Qualifications:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 5-6 years of experience in finance, accounting, or treasury management with a strong track record in managing financial processes and providing financial insights.
• Knowledge & Skills: Advanced understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, treasury management, and reconciliations. Proficiency in financial software (ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or SAGE) and advanced Excel skills. Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities.
• Behavioral Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. High level of integrity and commitment to financial accuracy and compliance.
