Procurement Specialist at PZ Cussons

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Procurement to create plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
- Enforce and adhere to the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Review, compare, and analyze products and services for purchase.
- Manage inventories, and maintain accurate purchasing and pricing records.
- Keep supplier information up to date, including qualifications, delivery timelines, and product ranges.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Analyze supply chain intelligence to identify value-creating opportunities.
- Support the development and implementation of category strategies.
- Act as the key local contact between suppliers and internal teams to resolve supplier issues and manage escalations.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to develop and execute procurement strategies.
- Develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Risk Management programs, and tools to promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a commercially-focused discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including procurement within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Professional procurement qualifications (e.g., GIPS/ISM/MBA) are desirable, with the ability to quickly learn world-class procurement systems and processes.
- Ability to identify value opportunities in procurement and supplier management.
- Experience managing multiple relationships in a multicultural environment, with the ability to handle feedback and learn from criticism.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in office applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong quantitative analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of financial management.
- At least 2 years of independent procurement experience in a similar organization.
- FMCG background is a plus.
