Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Wellhead Technician to join our operations. The successful candidate will install, inspect, maintain, and repair wellhead systems, ensuring safe and efficient production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and set up wellhead systems, including Christmas trees, valves, blowout preventers (BOPs), casing heads, and pressure control systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, corrosion, and potential issues.
- Perform functional tests on valves, BOPs, and other pressure control equipment.
- Execute repairs or replace faulty wellhead components to minimize production downtime.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Report operational issues, safety concerns, and potential risks to supervisors and managers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in wellhead engineering, well integrity management, or related fields within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience working with major International Oil Companies (IOCs) or leading Indigenous Operators is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of well integrity principles and risk management.
- Ability to interpret well schematics, technical drawings, and engineering reports.
- Strong project management, leadership, and troubleshooting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of API 6A, API 17D, ASME, and other relevant industry standards.
- Professional certifications such as IWCF Well Intervention Level 4, API 6A Certification, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Proficiency in engineering software and wellhead modeling tools.
