Cardiff University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

Cardiff University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships for 2024 provide financial assistance to international students pursuing various postgraduate taught programs.

Prize

Eligible students will receive awards ranging from £3,500 to £10,000, which will be granted as a discount on tuition fees.

Application Process

To apply, international students from eligible countries must accept an offer for selected postgraduate programs and fulfill any required deposit by the specified date on their offer letter. Recipients of the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship must meet or exceed the conditions of their offer by August 20, 2024, including any English language requirements.

Applicants who initially receive unconditional offers will automatically receive the scholarship, subject to meeting the criteria and deposit deadlines outlined in the terms and conditions.

Eligibility Critera

The scholarship will be automatically awarded to students who meet the eligibility criteria, including:

  • Submitting their application to the University by July 31, 2024
  • Accepting their offer and paying any applicable deposit by June 30, 2024 (or within 14 days of the offer, if the deposit deadline is after June 30)
  • Holding an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught course
  • Meeting the conditions of their offer by August 20, 2024
Eligible countries

The scholarship amounts vary based on the applicant’s country of domicile. For example, applicants from countries like Austria, Belgium, Canada, and others are eligible for awards of £3,500, while those from countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, Taiwan, and others are eligible for awards of £6,000. Applicants from Bangladesh are eligible for awards of £10,000.

Eligible programmes

The scholarship covers over 130 postgraduate taught programs across various academic schools at the university. It is available only to full-time, self-funding international students starting their studies in autumn 2024 and cannot be used for any other year of entry.

Recipients will receive the scholarship as a tuition fee discount and must confirm their status as overseas students for fee-paying purposes. The scholarship is not available to students receiving funding from external sources such as local governments, charities, or private organizations.
