Business Development Manager at Intersect Consortium
Intersect Consortium is a group of organizations dedicated to the Mental Health and Addiction sectors. We focus on raising awareness, providing education, and delivering treatment and support to individuals, companies, families, and society at large across Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
- Develop and implement a yearly business development plan and strategies for the organization.
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Understand the business’s products and services and advise clients accordingly.
- Build effective working relationships with community partners such as psychiatrists, treatment centers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Establish partnerships with government bodies, private sector organizations, and manufacturing companies.
- Communicate new product and service developments to prospective clients.
- Oversee the creation of marketing literature and initiatives.
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients to increase the client base.
- Prepare and present proposals, commercial bids, and reports to prospective clients.
- Participate in market research to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Suggest measures for improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify, recommend, and generate new business opportunities.
- Write business proposals and reports, draft and review contracts, and maintain relevant logs and records.
- Analyze team performance against targets and goals.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in Marketing or a related field, with proven experience in a business development capacity.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in business development.
- Knowledge of the behavioral health sector and healthcare experience is desirable.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong content development and presentation skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on delivering results.
- A Master’s degree is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent relationship management and business development skills.
- Market knowledge, sales-focused, and target-driven.
