Job Description
The Engineering – Marine Lead I will be responsible for supervising and coordinating marine activities, ensuring vessel safety, and providing expert consultation on marine operations. The role involves leading technical teams, supporting construction activities, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The candidate will also play a key role in developing procedures, managing resources, and maintaining effective communication across company functions and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide Marine input to concept selection and contract strategy.
- Supervise and coordinate Marine resources.
- Support Construction Superintendent / Discipline Leads (On-Vessel Management).
- Participate in Risk Assessments and pre-mobilization reviews.
- Provide expert Marine consultation to function and project teams.
- Develop and maintain marine vessel procedures, processes, systems, and specifications.
- Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
- Coordinate communication among the company and contractor engineering teams to ensure compliance.
- Review and evaluate contractor/subcontractor deliverables against standards and specifications.
- Identify and process deviations to contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Steward and resolve marine-related technical queries from contractors.
- Keep Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed on discipline progress and concerns.
- Participate in engineering reviews at contractor and subcontractor locations.
- Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
- Support internal engineering initiatives as required by the Supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Broad knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Strong ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both technical and business-related.
