Job Summary

The Finance Officer will ensure effective management of financial resources, supporting transparent utilization of funds from donors, sponsors, and other income sources. Working closely with the Finance Lead, the role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls, while safeguarding the organization’s financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and present timely financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain accounting records, ledgers, and reconciliations.

  • Monitor transactions for compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations.

  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with the Finance Lead on annual and project-based budgets.

  • Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis with recommendations.

  • Contribute to financial modelling and strategic projections.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and remittance of statutory payments.

  • Support audit processes and implement audit recommendations.

  • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process requisitions, payments, and invoices accurately.

  • Monitor staff advances and ensure timely retirements.

  • Maintain proper documentation for audit readiness.

Operational Support

  • Provide financial compliance support to programme teams.

  • Assist with financial reviews for funding proposals.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 4–8 years progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in NGO, civic-tech, or social impact organizations.

  • ACA certification (mandatory).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Workspace.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling financial data.

Salary

₦350,000 – ₦400,000 monthly.
