Job Overview

Dangote Group is seeking an experienced Head, Trade Services Unit to lead and oversee trade-related operations within Dangote Cement Plc. The successful candidate will manage import, export, and domestic trade activities while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and effective stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement trade services strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Trade Services team.
  • Collaborate with senior management to support business growth through efficient trade operations.

Trade Operations Management

  • Oversee import/export documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods across borders.
  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Monitor changes in trade regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Implement risk management practices to minimize exposure to trade-related risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all trade transactions.

Process Optimization

  • Streamline trade processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Introduce digital tools and automation for trade documentation and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between procurement, production, sales, and external trade partners.
  • Provide guidance on trade-related matters to support business decisions.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade associations and industry forums.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in trade services, logistics, or supply chain, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in trade management software and ERP systems, including the CBN Trade Portal.
