Role Overview:

• Citibank Nigeria’s Finance department plays a pivotal role in producing financial, management, and strategic reports to facilitate informed decision-making by Franchise Management and the Board.
• The Financial Reporting function, situated within Nigeria’s Finance department, directly reports to the Country Finance Officer (CFO) on all operational aspects.
• The primary objective of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality financial, management, and strategic reports, provide analytical insights to management for decision-making purposes, enforce robust controls throughout the process, and identify and implement process improvements as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly financial performance reports and ad hoc reports.
• Coordination and preparation of quarterly business reviews.
• Compilation of quarterly competitive analysis reports.
• Preparation of statutory financial statements for Citibank Nigeria and its subsidiaries.
• Generation of financial performance reports, strategy updates, and other deliverables for franchise Board and Committee Meetings.
• Reconciliation between regulatory and management reports.
• Support during Citibank Nigeria Credit Ratings exercise.
• Assistance during CBN and NDIC audit and examinations.
• Calculation of annual NDIC charge for Citibank Nigeria and support during NDIC review.
• Coordination of Risk management practices and whistle-blowing review by external auditor.
• Ensuring compliance with all requisite controls for the financial reporting unit.
• Preparation of the bank’s annual strategy and coordination of Board strategy sessions.
• Coordination and preparation of deliverables required for Management Strategy sessions.
• Coordination and preparation of deliverables for statutory audit.
• Coordination and preparation of deliverables for annual budget.
• Preparation of presentations during annual Shareholders engagement sessions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance Honours or related field.
• Chartered accountant or equivalent qualification.
• Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Skills:

• Extensive experience in a Bank’s Financial Reporting Environment.
• Thorough understanding of IFRS and preparation of IFRS compliant financial statements.
• Working knowledge of related industry practices and standards.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint
