Programme Overview

The Graduate Sales Engineer role is a developmental program designed to train and progress future engineering and business leaders in Emerson. The candidate will undergo formal and on-the-job training in technical and commercial domains. Rate of progress will be driven by personal effort and the ability to demonstrate capability. Progression will be determined by individual performance, including the demonstration of unfailing commitment to deliver on assigned responsibilities. Collaboration and willingness to learn are key success factors for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in developmental programs and gain the right skill sets
  • Deliver all internship projects to an excellent standard
  • Support and collaborate with service and sales teams and LBPs in the region
  • Work closely with service engineers, sales/business development teams to improve service delivery and sales figures in Nigeria
  • Support the development and implementation of sales and service strategies that deliver above-market growth rates
  • Work closely with other Emerson Business Units to maximize pull-through content
  • Develop long-term relationships within customer accounts to ensure awareness of all Emerson capabilities
  • Improve customer satisfaction by finding solutions to their needs
  • Keep up to date with developments in products, industries, and market trends
  • Ensure Emerson Ethics and trade compliance procedures are strictly followed in all transactions
  • Maintain a record of business activity as per Emerson’s record retention policy
  • Operate strictly in compliance with Emerson’s ITC policies
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Chemical, Mechanical) or Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Computer Science) with a minimum of second class upper from a recognized university
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Completion of the mandatory national service program (NYSC) or possession of a discharge/exemption certificate by September 2025
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0–2 years post-graduate work experience
  • Oil & gas industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong performance track record with passion for achieving results
