Position Title: Senior ESG Consultant

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary: The Senior ESG Consultant at IPMC Limited will lead the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) department, overseeing the development, implementation, and auditing of ESG strategies and initiatives for our clients across various industries. The role requires expertise in sustainability reporting, ESG performance measurement, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in conducting sustainability audits, managing stakeholder engagements, and advising senior management on ESG integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development and Implementation:
    •  Develop and implement ESG strategies tailored to meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
    •  Advise clients on integrating sustainability principles into their core business operations.
    •  Collaborate with senior management and department heads to align ESG initiatives with business goals.

2. Sustainability Reporting and Auditing:

  •  Lead the preparation and auditing of sustainability reports according to international standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • o Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance of sustainability disclosures and reports.
  • o Conduct internal audits to assess ESG performance and identify areas for improvement.

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  •  Manage relationships with stakeholders including investors, regulatory bodies, and community groups.

Communicate ESG strategies and performance effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

  •  Represent IPMC Limited in ESG-related forums, conferences, and industry events.

4. Risk Management and Compliance:

  •  Identify ESG risks and opportunities that impact business operations and financial performance.
  •  Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to ensure compliance with ESG standards and reporting
  •  Develop risk mitigation strategies related to environmental and social

5. Team Leadership and Development:

  •  Mentor and supervise junior consultants within the ESG
  •  Provide training and guidance on ESG best practices, standards, and methodologies.
  •  Foster a culture of sustainability and corporate responsibility within IPMC Limited and among clients.

   Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or MBA with a focus on Sustainability is preferred.
  • Sustainability Professional (CSP), or similar credentials from recognized certifying bodies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG consulting, sustainability reporting, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading ESG projects for large corporations across multiple industries.
  • Strong knowledge of international ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and experience in applying these standards to assess ESG performance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, project oversight, and client relationship management.
