The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by assisting with various financial tasks, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and preparing reports. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations within the real estate company.
Job Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing:
- Assist with recording and processing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Financial Record Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Reconciliation:
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Report Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Invoice Management:
- Process and track invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Data Entry:
- Enter financial data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Document Management:
- Organize and maintain financial documents and files, both physical and digital.
Audit Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Expense Tracking:
- Monitor and track expenses related to real estate operations, ensuring proper allocation and adherence to budgets.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior accountants and other finance team members to support various accounting functions and projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or a similar industry. Internship experience is acceptable.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Attention to Detail:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
Organizational Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Communication:
- Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and providing financial information.
Problem-Solving:
- Ability to identify and resolve basic accounting discrepancies and issues.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office hours with the possibility of extended hours during peak financial periods or deadlines.
- Office environment with occasional travel to property sites or other company locations as needed.
