Job Summary:

The Nurse Anaesthetist will provide anesthesia care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures under the supervision of a physician or anesthesiologist. The role includes patient assessment, anesthesia administration, intra-operative care, and patient education, ensuring optimal support throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-anesthetic preparation and patient assessments.
• Administer anesthesia and manage intra-operative care.
• Evaluate patient responses and make necessary adjustments.
• Provide education and support to patients.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and department staff.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives in anesthesia practices.

Qualifications:

• Basic Diploma in Anaesthetic Nursing (CRNA).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the health sector.
• Registered with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery of Nigeria and licensed to practice as an Anesthetic nurse.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control practices.
• Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act.
• Must be a resident of Ughelli and its environs.
