Petroleum Engineer at Nestoil Limited
Nestoil, Nigeria’s foremost indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) Company in the Oil and Gas sector, has been a significant contributor to local content in the industry for about three decades. With approximately 2,000 direct employees, Nestoil continues to set industry benchmarks in Pipeline Construction, Repairs, and Maintenance, alongside associated facilities for Dredging, River Crossing, and Shoreline Protection.
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Petroleum Engineer based in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Job Description:
In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and departments across the Group. Your primary responsibility will involve providing leadership for OML 42 gas development and asset maturation activities, as well as participating in and influencing oil development initiatives. This role encompasses subsurface oil and gas development, production support, well engineering, and development planning economics.
Responsibilities:
As a Petroleum Engineering Team Lead, your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting annual reviews and updates of oil and gas reserves in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure reliability.
- Providing timely reports for statutory and business requirements.
- Offering operational guidance to Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Well Engineering, and technical support activities.
- Managing production and cost forecasting for business planning purposes.
- Supervising the planning of drilling activities for reservoir development and contributing to drilling/workover plans.
- Mentoring less experienced personnel.
- Collaborating with other disciplines to carry out petroleum engineering aspects of oil developments, including nodal analysis, material balance modeling, reservoir simulation modeling, and surface facility modeling.
- Optimizing well and completion types and evaluating alternative facility and well configurations.
- Using economic models to estimate economic outcomes and rank well drilling opportunities.
- Coordinating the development of oil rims and gas caps in reservoirs.
- Participating in conceptual development plans, investment estimation, and production potential assessment.
- Ensuring timely compliance with regulatory requirements and participating in regulatory meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements:
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering.
- Relevant professional qualification/membership.
- Familiarity with geosciences, reservoir modeling software, and subsurface uncertainty analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Minimum of 10 years of subsurface oil and gas industry experience.
- Experience in reserves estimation, production forecasting, fluid PVT analysis, decline analysis, and well test interpretation.
