Accountabilities:

• Drive cost reduction initiatives to enhance efficiency and resource quality for project teams, departments, or business units.
• Oversee logistics operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Collaborate with freighters and clearing agents for cost analysis and service quality.
• Ensure integration of work efforts and completion against set expectations.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to company standards and policies.
• Review contracts for compliance, pricing, and past performance metrics.
• Obtain and compare vendor price quotes with item specifications and availability.
• Maintain organized records of product information and purchase orders.
• Strive for continuous improvement in operations, reducing turnaround time, and enhancing customer service.
• Notify end-users or stores upon the arrival of goods for prompt quality checks and goods receipt.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in purchasing building and construction materials.
• Certification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of Nigerian shipping laws and local legal requirements.
• Basic project management skills for timely and successful delivery.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting.
