We’re currently seeking applicants for the position of Product Designer located in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. This is a full-time role.

Job Description

We seek a Product Designer to collaborate within teams working on crucial parts of our customer-facing experience. We prioritize inclusive design practices to ensure our product caters to all users.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading design for specific product areas, shaping future visions, ensuring coherence within overall product design, and delivering incremental improvements.
• Collaborating within cross-functional product squads, managing all design artifacts from discovery to final UI execution.
• Creating polished, intuitive, and accessible user experiences while considering technical constraints and experimentation strategies.
• Elevating design standards within Wazobia Technologies, contributing to improving our design practices and providing constructive feedback.
• Working closely with design teams and product leadership to align long-term strategies, business goals, and experience quality.

Requirements

Ideal candidates should:

• Possess relevant qualifications with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Have led design efforts for significant product launches in a fast-growing company.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding that good design transcends trends, emphasizing principles and tradeoffs for optimal user experiences.
• Be proficient in native mobile design patterns for both Android and iOS platforms.
• Have a passion for knowledge sharing and mentoring other designers.
• Be adept at Adobe Suite applications and possess strong UI design skills for responsive screens.
• Prioritize inclusive design and accessibility in their work.
• Have a keen eye for design details while maintaining a holistic perspective on user experience.

What to Expect from the Hiring Process

1. Initial call: A video chat focusing on general suitability and fit for Wazobia.
2. Portfolio Review: Candidates will present projects demonstrating their design process and deliverables to the hiring team.
3. Final round: Three interviews covering craft, impact, and teamwork.

• The team you join will be determined by priority areas upon starting, and designers are encouraged to pursue opportunities for impact and personal development.

We’re hiring for a mid-senior level, and applicants need not worry about fitting a specific seniority level; their experience will determine placement within the salary bracket of N300,000 – N400,000 per month.
