Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Project Accountant to manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals. The Project Accountant will be responsible for tracking project expenditures, controlling costs, and reporting capital expenditures (CAPEX). This role requires a keen eye for detail, solid financial planning skills, and experience within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting of costs and revenues.
• Track project expenditures and investigate variances, ensuring they remain within approved budgets.
• Implement cost-control measures to enhance project efficiency.
• Track and report CAPEX related to projects, ensuring they are within approved limits and properly reflected in financial statements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in project accounting, financial planning, and budgeting, preferably in an upstream oil and gas company.
• Strong understanding of financial principles including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control.
• Experience with joint venture accounting, cost recovery, and financial management in oil and gas operations.
• Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
