Job Description
The Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking (CCIB) division at Standard Chartered Bank offers a Graduate Programme in Client Coverage. For over 160 years, we’ve delivered world-class financing, investment, treasury, and strategic advisory services to our clients, supporting their growth when and where it matters most. Serving as the preferred banking partner to over 5,000 clients, including large corporates, financial institutions, governments, small and medium-sized enterprises, and investors, we facilitate global trade, capital, and investment flows worldwide.
Globally, Client Coverage oversees and develops client relationships, collaborating with our product partners across the global network to provide working capital, financing, trade, cash, and financial markets solutions. These solutions encompass a wide spectrum of products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory.
About the Graduate Programme
- Our 18-month graduate program offers comprehensive support to launch a global banking career. The induction phase involves networking with peers and senior executives across the Bank, establishing networks crucial for career advancement.
- The training curriculum focuses on enhancing technical, business, and interpersonal skills, integrating real-world simulations and case studies.
- The program places a strong emphasis on future skill development, aligning with our commitment to revolutionize banking for the betterment of all.
Client Coverage Roles and Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of our industry-leading bankers, participants have the opportunity to specialize in the following roles. Through our assessment process, we guide candidates to understand these opportunities better, determining the best fit based on their skills, attributes, and interests. Participants will gain hands-on experience and become integral team members in either role:
- Assistant Relationship Managers: Support Senior Relationship Managers in deal execution, client and partner coordination, and business approvals. You’ll take on sales responsibilities and collaborate with various stakeholders to identify opportunities.
- Credit Analysts: Assist Relationship Managers in risk management, deal structuring, and client monitoring. Gain a deep understanding of our CCIB products and their structures. Conduct credit, financial, and industry risk analysis, while also learning about environmental, sustainability, and reputational risk types and our risk management approaches.
Eligibility and Requirements
- We welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds and encourage applicants with outstanding academic achievements and extracurricular involvement.
- We seek team players capable of handling pressure, possessing analytical minds, numeracy skills, attention to detail, relationship-building skills, and a drive to achieve goals.
- Applicants should be final-year students, available to commence in July 2024, and have the permanent legal right to work in their applying country.
Exceptions
For the UK and UAE, we consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship, giving priority to UAE nationals in the UAE. In US Graduate roles, we do not consider applicants seeking Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) employment.
