Transaction Monitoring Officer at Fidelity Bank Plc

Job Objective:

The Transaction Monitoring Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines in customer onboarding and monitoring customer activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Analyze transaction reports from IT, IOPs, and Control teams to identify suspicious activities for further review.
  • Monitor unusual transactions, including government accounts and personal accounts, NGOs, churches, and mosques.
  • Track large cash lodgments, inflows, and company accounts with high transaction volumes.
  • Monitor high-frequency transactions, large cash payments to BDCs, and structured payments into individual accounts.
  • Screen SWIFT wire transfers to filter sanctioned individuals, entities, and nationals.
  • Oversee the return of suspicious FX inflows and account closures as needed.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on flagged accounts and prepare compliance investigation reports.
  • File Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) via GoAML Portal.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of customer accounts with name changes and staff accounts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or Humanities, or an HND with a Master’s Degree.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
Skills:
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in compliance reporting and risk management.
  • Knowledgeable in bank regulatory procedures, banking operations, and quality management.
