UNESCO Mid-Level Professionals Programme 2023 (Fully Funded)
The Mid-Level Professionals Programme (MLPP) is a recruitment initiative designed for highly skilled mid-level professionals who aspire to commence or advance their careers as International Civil Servants at UNESCO. While candidates from all UNESCO Member States are welcome to apply, preference will be given to those from underrepresented Member States and internal applicants with equal qualifications.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of a UNESCO Member State. We strongly encourage qualified individuals from underrepresented Member States to submit their applications.
- The MLPP selection process follows UNESCO’s standard recruitment procedures, including the educational and professional experience prerequisites for P-3 and P-4 level positions.
- Language proficiency:
- Candidates should exhibit a strong command of at least one of the Secretariat’s working languages (English or French).
- Proficiency in the other working language is advantageous and may be required in certain cases.
- Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish can be necessary or considered an additional asset.

UNESCO offers competitive salaries comprising a base salary along with various benefits, such as 30 days of annual leave, family allowances, medical insurance, and a pension plan, among others.

Application Process:
Positions within the MLPP are advertised for a two-month period. Before applying, carefully review the requirements to ensure your eligibility and qualifications. Note that once you submit your application, no changes can be made.
Pre-Screening:
Applications will undergo an initial review to verify if candidates meet the fundamental eligibility criteria, including experience, education, and language skills.
Assessments and Interviews:
Candidates will be evaluated based on the criteria specified in the vacancy notice. This may involve pre-recorded video interviews, written tests, competency assessments, and interviews with live panels. Only candidates selected for further evaluation will be contacted.
Notification of Appointment Decisions:
All applicants will receive notification regarding the outcome of their application. Unsuccessful interviewees will also receive feedback.
