We are currently looking to hire for the position below:
Job Title: Community Engagement Associate
Role Summary:
As a Community Engagement Associate at Husk, you will play a vital role in facilitating community engagement activities to support the deployment of our mini-grid portfolio in Nigeria. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including community representatives, local authorities, and industry-related entities, to ensure successful project implementation and stakeholder satisfaction. We are seeking a candidate with experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, report writing, and business development support, who is passionate about addressing Nigeria’s energy access challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Assist in expanding and maintaining project sites’ portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engagement activities and market intelligence insights.
- Develop and implement robust community engagement strategies. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Manage relationships with community stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a database of critical stakeholders across operational areas.
- Actively engage with stakeholders to address community-related issues. Regulatory Agency Engagement:
- Support in obtaining and maintaining relevant regulatory permits.
- Maintain an information base for local government agency engagements. Community Engagement:
- Drive active engagement with selected communities from pre-development to post-development stages.
- Document community engagement meetings and relevant agreements.
- Provide regular updates on community engagement activities. Business Growth:
- Support various teams during community/customer engagement exercises.
- Provide assistance in documenting security insights gathered during community engagement activities.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or social sciences; additional sales-related training or certifications are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles within the power, telecommunications, or rural development sectors in Nigeria.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on driving business growth.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Relationship management skills with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and capable of delivering tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in Hausa being an added advantage. Location and Travel:
- This role is based in Lafia, Nigeria, with frequent travel to Husk Minigrids sites.
Salary:
₦200,000–₦300,000 per month, based on experience.
