Job Description

• The Process Manager is responsible for executing the approved plan to achieve production volume, quality, and safety standards for the Hazardous plant.
• Coordinate with the maintenance department to implement preventive maintenance plans and minimize process breakdowns.
• Collaborate with the Safety Manager on all safety matters related to production and maintenance issues.
• Adhere to instructions from the General Manager regarding improvement/modification follow-up, sharing process variables, issues, recommendations, etc., to ensure safe operation.

Key Deliverables

• Adhere to instructions from the General Manager/Plant Manager to meet oil and mill volume and quality targets.
• Coordinate with shift in charge for timely material intake per production plan and monitor oil storage area to ensure timely oil transfer with correct quantity and quality confirmation.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to execute preventive maintenance plans and procure spare parts.
• Monitor daily maintenance reports and coordinate with Maintenance to optimize performance and minimize plant downtime.
• Ensure plant safety and process continuity during project execution or process improvement activities.
• Ensure timely submission of daily and monthly production and utility consumption reports, as well as maintenance downtime reports, to the Plant Manager.

Strategic Effectiveness:

• Oversee one of Nigeria’s largest oil seed crushing plants, with a production capacity of 1,000MT/day of Soybean, utilizing advanced technologies.
• Manage the extraction plant process using hexane, a hazardous substance, necessitating rigorous safety measures to prevent accidents.
• Handle combustible management and high-pressure steam systems in an automated plant with approximately 150 on-roll and off-roll employees.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in oil seed plant operations.
• At least 10 years of supervisory-level experience in plant operations and management, with understanding of PLC/SCADA systems, and proficient computer and reporting skills.
