Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced, proactive HR Generalist to join our team. As our first HR hire, you will play a key role in establishing foundational HR practices, ensuring compliance, supporting our team, and helping us scale sustainably. You’ll work closely with leadership to build a positive company culture and manage the full spectrum of HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Setup & Compliance

    • Develop and implement core HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook

    • Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local HR regulations

    • Set up and manage employee records, contracts, and HR systems

  • Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Lead the recruitment process from job postings to offer letters

    • Build a consistent and engaging onboarding experience for new hires

    • Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and plan ahead

  • Employee Relations & Culture

    • Be a trusted point of contact for employee questions and concerns

    • Support a positive and inclusive workplace culture

    • Assist in performance management and conflict resolution

  • Benefits & Compensation

    • Research and help implement benefits packages (health, PTO, perks)

    • Support payroll and compensation practices in coordination with Finance

    • Support tax submission and processing
  • Learning & Development

    • Identify training needs and recommend development initiatives
