What traumatised you as an undergraduate?
Use this thread to share any of your traumatising or shocking experience as an undergraduate.
Let's go!!!!
I almost carried two courses and I still shiver whenever I think about it cos that would have meant an extra year in school for me.
7am classes but I never attend one though 😂🤧
- the fear of failure was a constant companion. The pressure to succeed was immense, and every exam, every assignment, felt like a test of my worth.
Prof. Ladele's 8am class, this woman will be in the lecture Hall by 7:30 way before students start coming in and once it's 8am no human being can come into the class again, her attendance carries 50% of her CA and participation in class 50% hence you dare not come to her class empty headed. You have to read ahead of her classes, if you don't you get 2 hrs of library time in which she will monitor you to make sure you're actually in the library. To make things worse she was my project supervisor in my final year. Only 3 of us graduated that year, the remaining students under her had to carry project over. The traumatic experience!!!
Awaiting result and Fs
There was this 6 unit course; "Machine Design". The take home assignment we get, would always take up all your weekend. I studied so much for this exam to the point where I was feeling so sleepy during the exam and wanted to just sleep right there in the exam hall for some minutes then continue writing the exam after I wake up.
I almost didn't graduate with my set because my course adviser asked me to repeat a course I was sure I passed in year 1 but my script went missing, i later found my script in year 4 😭😭😭 and I got 69 (the werey that marked it after we found the script said the remaining marks were for her)
Those impromptu "tear a sheet of paper".
Woke up in the hostel in 100 level to the sound of a bell. And I was told we’re to wake up 6am everyday for morning devotion and 10pm. (P.S this was university not secondary school 😂)
Maintaining strong 2:1 for three years, dropped to 2:2 because my crazy supervisor decided to be wicked during projects🥲.
@omobolanle I had similar experience my final semester too. I was just 0.03 point away from graduating with distinction. But my project supervisor also did his thing. It was so annoying because I was active during the project work but someone who didn't turn up at all got A in his project.
- Fire emojis 🔥 on the class group
