Job Summary

TotalEnergies is looking for a skilled Accountant to join their team in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a versatile role that involves various accounting tasks across different financial areas.

Responsibilities
  • Budgeting, monitoring budget performance, and creating reports.
  • Completing monthly closing activities, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Processing invoices, handling general accounting, and making payments.
  • Preparing financial statements in both Nigerian Naira and US Dollars.
  • Consolidating monthly group financial reports.
  • Maintaining compliance with internal control regulations.
  • Supporting budget reviews with partners and government agencies.
  • Managing work commitments and interacting with headquarters.
  • Handling treasury operations and controls.
  • Dealing with all Nigerian federal government taxes related to TotalEnergies’ upstream operations.
  • Analyzing and maintaining specific accounts.
  • Running the accrual process for taxes.
  • Assisting with accounting for partner contributions and their impact on treasury reports.
  • Calculating, filing, and paying taxes on time.
  • Reconciling monthly tax accounts.
  • Supporting tax audits.
  • Assisting with treasury operations, including bank reconciliations.
  • Completing UNISUP closure activities.
  • Helping prepare annual reports for NNPC/TEPNG and AMENAM.
  • Creating intercompany reconciliation reports for TotalEnergies entities.
  • Uploading monthly SOX performance data.
  • Monitoring invoices and following up on overdue items.
  • Working with archivists to process invoices.
  • Handling fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Taking on other assigned duties.
Work Environment
  • This position is located in Lagos, Nigeria (though the posting also mentions Port Harcourt).

  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
