Following the introduction of Microfinance Banking in Nigeria, the bank converted to Unical Microfinance Bank Limited in 2007 and operates as a private limited liability company.

Job Summary

Unical Microfinance Bank Limited is seeking an experienced and duly licensed External Auditor to provide independent audit services in accordance with applicable regulatory and professional standards.

The successful candidate or audit firm must have proven experience auditing Microfinance Banks, a strong understanding of CBN and IFRS requirements, and the capacity to deliver high-quality audit engagements within statutory timelines.

Requirements
  • Must be duly registered and licensed to practise in Nigeria, with FRCN registration mandatory.
  • Must be a member of a recognized professional accountancy body in Nigeria, such as ICAN or ANAN.
  • Must currently be practicing as an accountant and auditor in Nigeria.
  • Must be independent of Unical Microfinance Bank to avoid any conflict of interest.
  • Proven experience in auditing Microfinance Banks is required.
  • Must have adequate staffing and an experienced audit team capable of completing the engagement within statutory timelines.
  • Strong understanding of CBN regulations and IFRS requirements.
  • Must have a sound audit methodology and established quality assurance processes.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality and compliant audit engagements.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and professional judgment skills.
  • High level of integrity, independence, and confidentiality.
