Assistant Accountant

Auldon Limited, a toy trading and wholesale distribution company based in Lagos, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Location: Idumota, Lagos Island, Lagos
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, plus two Saturdays

Job Description

The Assistant Accountant will support the accounting team with daily financial operations, record-keeping, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record financial transactions and update accounting ledgers.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and accounting schedules.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and records.
  • Assist with audit processes and provide required documentation.
  • Support the implementation of internal controls and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
Requirements
  • Relevant educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ICAN, ACCA, or other professional accounting certification in progress or completed is an advantage.
  • 3–4 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
  • Experience with financial reporting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong numerical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
