Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Account Officer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Accountant and collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial records and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and accurately record daily financial transactions.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date accounting records.
- Support accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and other account reconciliations.
- Assist with inventory accounting and stock reconciliations.
- Support production costing and standard costing activities.
- Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Monitor expenses and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules.
- Assist with tax-related activities and ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian tax regulations.
- Identify and report financial discrepancies or irregularities.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
- Work closely with the Senior Accountant and other departments to resolve accounting issues.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience processing financial transactions and maintaining accounting records.
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting software.
- Experience supporting inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Knowledge of production costing and standard costing.
- Experience supporting month-end reporting.
- ICAN ATS or a relevant professional qualification in progress is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
