Summary

The U.S. Consulate Lagos is inviting qualified and eligible applicants to apply for the position of Community Liaison Office (CLO) Administrative Assistant in the Management Section.

Duties

The CLO Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support to the Community Liaison Office. Working under the supervision of the CLO Coordinator and in collaboration with the Assistant CLO Coordinator, the role supports the delivery of programs across eight core areas:

  • Family member employment
  • Crisis management and security
  • Education
  • Communications and outreach
  • Guidance and referral
  • Welcoming, orientation, and departures
  • Community liaison
  • Event planning

The assistant is responsible for developing and maintaining contacts, organizing information, and supporting activities that enhance the morale and welfare of the Mission community.

Educational Qualifications
  • Completion of High School is required.
Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of administrative or office experience is required.
Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and hold a low risk/non-sensitive clearance.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation and may need to complete a pre-employment medical exam.
  • Candidates must be ready to begin work within six (6) weeks of receiving authorization/clearances.
Language
  • Good working knowledge of English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
Job Knowledge
  • Understanding of the Foreign Service concept and the structure of the U.S. federal government.
  • Familiarity with general office administration and management principles.
  • Standard knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to draft reports and official communications.
  • Strong organizational skills for both physical and digital records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and strong research skills.
Salary
  • USD 43,112 annually.
