Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to oversee financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and support effective financial management across the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring budgets and costs, preparing statutory reports, and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nigerian tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile bank statements and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and analyze variances.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes and prepare related reports.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Monitor company expenditures and provide actionable financial insights through variance analysis.
  • Review daily financial postings and reconcile major supplier accounts.
  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and Companies Income Tax (CIT), in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and process depreciation and amortization entries.
  • Monitor inventory costing and ensure accurate valuation of inventory.
Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Financial Accountant.
  • Previous experience within the medical consumables, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical equipment industry is highly desirable.

  • Excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
