Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to devise and organize interior spaces, taking into account both their visual appeal and functionality. Collaborating closely with clients, the incumbent comprehends their design preferences and translates them into imaginative and functional design plans. The role also encompasses the selection of appropriate materials, color palettes, and furnishings to elevate interior spaces, while simultaneously overseeing the execution of architectural projects in accordance with design specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create innovative interior design concepts, aligning them with client requisites, project objectives, and architectural blueprints.
  • Engage with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their needs, style preferences, and vision for the space, maintaining transparent and effective communication throughout the design process.
  • Generate and supervise architectural working drawings, encompassing millwork, tile placements, elevations, floor plans, section plans, 3D renderings, and Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP).
  • Develop technical documentation, including drawings and specifications, to convey the design plan to fellow professionals engaged in the project.
  • Establish and oversee project budgets, offering cost estimates, and advocating cost-effective design solutions that do not compromise quality.
  • Formulate, organize, and review building plans, ensuring projects are executed from inception to completion within predefined design parameters and budget constraints.
  • Research, locate, and choose suitable materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures in alignment with design concepts, financial constraints, and sustainability considerations.
  • Craft detailed visual representations, mood boards, and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas and secure client approval.
  • Manage the contractor selection process, assess bids, and oversee contractors during the construction phase.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess existing project conditions, and create architectural drawings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and engage in architectural research to enhance the quality of the organization’s projects.
  • Ensure that architectural designs conform to building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
Educational Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited and reputable university.
Work Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC experience in the field of interior architecture.
Technical Proficiency
  • Proficiency in software applications such as AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
  • Profound knowledge of 3D illustration techniques in interior design and interior architectural schemes.
  • Strong technical CAD skills, along with a sound understanding of architectural conventions, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and electrical plans.
  • A solid understanding of building materials.
