Job Description

Mechanical Engineer at Narelli International Ltd

About the Company: Narelli International Limited, a privately owned Nigerian engineering company, was founded in Lagos in 1990. Over the years, it has grown to be a leading player in the engineering industry in Nigeria and across the continent. Narelli is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and exports engineering services to the sub-region.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, design, and draft building mechanical services from conceptual to completion stages.
  • Prepare tender documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, and other engineers to coordinate engineering projects.
  • Prepare and submit project and progress reports as needed.
  • Develop test procedure plans, supervise testing of electromechanical equipment, and certify results.
  • Participate in technical analysis and negotiations for tenders.
  • Review and approve workshop drawings for construction.
  • Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning of building mechanical services.
  • Oversee equipment commissioning programs and provide sign-offs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Certifications:
    • COREN (Registered member) is an added advantage.
    • Corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
    • Member of the Nigerian Institute of Mechanical Engineers (NiMechE).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Expertise in equipment selection, including HVAC load calculations, duct and pipe sizing.
    • Experience in plumbing design and workshop drawing reviews.
    • Familiarity with designing building mechanical services in accordance with codes and standards.
    • Proven experience in preparing tender documents, including detailed drawings and BOQs.
    • Proficiency in supervising the design and operational maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
    • Conversant with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Technical Skills:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, PDMS.
  • Design software such as Primavera Project Planner.
  • Strong command of English (oral and written).
