Job Description:

• The role involves performing various mechanical repairs related to fabrication works as assigned or per instructions from the section Foreman and Engineer.
• Tasks include fabrication and laying of pipelines and repairs within the Plant/terminal.
• As part of a team, execute mechanical maintenance activities such as installation, alignment, overhauling, repairing machines, maintaining de-dusting units, and vulcanizing belt conveyors, among others.
• Modify mechanical fabrication according to specific requirements.
• Ensure adherence to policies, processes, and systems related to maintenance functions.
• Inspect tools and equipment, especially lifting equipment, before usage to ensure suitability, safety, and good condition.
• Collaborate with the foreman to prepare steel requirements, consumables, tools, and materials for each work assignment.
• Analyze mechanical system blueprints to determine component specifications.
• Fabricate structural components from raw materials and weld them.
• Inspect fabricated components for correct sizing.
• Use tools like shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives for cutting structural components.
• Develop and execute a maintenance schedule while conducting system maintenance accordingly.
• Conduct diagnostic tests on malfunctioning systems to identify root causes.
• Replace damaged or faulty structural components as necessary.
• Adhere strictly to all safety rules and regulations at the worksite.

Requirements:

• HND / OND / Trade Test (Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Fitting)
• 2-3 years of industrial experience
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment accurately and swiftly
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Basic knowledge of the cement production process
• Comprehensive understanding of cement packing machines, functions, and procedures
