Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work on-site to oversee project costs, ensuring they stay within budget while utilizing cost-effective methods that meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cost Estimation: Prepare precise cost estimates for construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors. Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving measures.
  2. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to costs and develop strategies for risk mitigation. Establish contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
  3. Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs against the budget, identifying and addressing any deviations. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and validate costs.
  4. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for construction projects, tracking costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
  5. Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations by both parties. Handle variations and claims, resolving disputes in a fair and timely manner.
  6. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for value engineering, proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Professional certification in Quantity Surveying or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills in Cost Control, Cost Planning, and Cost Management.
  • Experience in creating Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Knowledge of construction regulations and safety standards.
