Job Summary

The SHE Lead (Site SHE Manager) will be responsible for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities at site level. This role ensures compliance with Unilever’s global standards and local regulations, driving continuous improvement towards zero harm and reduced environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific SHE strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with Unilever and national standards.

  • Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective control measures.

  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and closure of corrective actions.

  • Conduct trend analysis of SHE data, audits, and safe behavior observations.

  • Deploy Unilever Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at site level.

  • Drive SHE compliance across site operations, logistics partners, and contractors.

  • Lead cultural change through engagement programs, toolbox talks, and SHE awareness initiatives.

  • Plan and deliver SHE training and inductions for employees, visitors, and contractors.

  • Lead internal SHE audits and coordinate external inspections from regulators and corporate teams.

  • Analyze and report monthly SHE performance data to leadership.

  • Oversee emergency response planning, drills, and readiness.

  • Collaborate with managers to integrate SHE into daily operations and decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and contractor SHE documentation.

  • Partner with regulatory agencies, inspectors, and corporate SHE functions.

  • Lead sustainability initiatives in waste reduction, emissions control, energy use, and water conservation.

  • Oversee warehouse safety and rollout of safe travel programs.

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications & Experience
  • University degree in Engineering, Science, Safety, Environmental or Risk Management.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • ISPON certification required.

  • Preferred certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor.

  • Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, global standards, and process safety.

  • Experience with SHE digital tools and integration into operations.

  • Proven analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

  • Ability to influence outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.
