Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: SSC P-Numan, Adamawa

Job Summary

Dangote Group is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies in line with statutory regulations and company standards.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, promote safe work practices, train employees on HSE procedures, investigate incidents, and support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly HSE performance reports.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans.
• Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises.
• Monitor waste disposal activities and environmental compliance.
• Support workplace sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments across operations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and refresher training sessions.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and root cause analyses.
• Monitor compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Relevant professional certifications such as:
  • NEBOSH IGC
  • ISPON Certification
  • OSHA Training
  • ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
  • IOSH Managing Safely
• Membership of a recognised HSE professional body, such as ISPON, is an advantage.
