Job Overview

Carpa Healthcare is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Pharmacist to join its pharmacy training programme. This structured 12-month internship is designed for Pharmacy graduates seeking practical experience under the supervision of registered pharmacists. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to medication dispensing, patient care, inventory management, and clinical pharmacy practice while developing the competencies required for professional licensure.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret prescriptions and accurately dispense medications under professional supervision.
• Detect therapeutic incompatibilities and ensure safe medication practices.
• Prepare, package, and label medications in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Provide over-the-counter (OTC) medication advice and counsel patients on dosage, administration, and possible side effects.
• Conduct medication reviews and support patient care initiatives.
• Monitor medicine inventory, check expiry dates, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Manage controlled drug balances in line with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in structured clinical rotations across different pharmacy practice settings.
• Maintain an educational portfolio and complete assigned competency assessments.
• Prepare for professional registration examinations through continuous learning and supervised practice.
• Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Pharmacy.
• Must be eligible to participate in a structured pharmacist internship programme.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Salary

₦150,000 – ₦350,000 per month
