Social Media Assistant at Wildlife Conservation Society

Job Purpose:

The Social Media Assistant plays a pivotal role in developing and executing effective social media strategies to raise awareness, foster engagement, and support fundraising efforts for WCS Nigeria Program.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with WCS Nigeria Program objectives. Create engaging content (text, images, videos) across various platforms that reflect WCS’s mission and resonate with target audiences.
  • Manage and update WCS Nigeria Program’s social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media trends, track analytics, and provide regular reports to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Country Director to integrate social media efforts with broader communication strategies.
  • Engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and build a sense of community on social media platforms.
  • Stay informed about relevant environmental and conservation issues in Nigeria to inform content creation.
Minimum Requirements and Job Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple social media accounts effectively.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles, content optimization strategies, and social media management tools.
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for non-profit organizations or conservation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of wildlife conservation and environmental issues in Nigeria. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in social media marketing or digital marketing.
  • Experience with video production, editing, digital design software, and photography skills.
  • Previous success in growing social media followership and engagement.
