Job Description
The Senior Engineer (Mechanical Maintenance) will supervise the maintenance of all turbine, boiler, and auxiliary equipment at the power plant. The role ensures optimal equipment reliability and operational efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment (boiler, turbine, and auxiliaries).
- Conduct overhauls and inspections of mechanical systems and components.
- Plan and monitor overhaul schedules to ensure high plant reliability.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets efficiently.
- Oversee spare parts planning, procurement, and inspection.
- Enforce compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective actions promptly.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Postgraduate or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in mechanical maintenance.
Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience in the maintenance of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Strong understanding of boiler operations and pressure systems.
- Sound technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide expert technical guidance to maintenance teams.
- Knowledge of rotary equipment and modern maintenance management practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong awareness of safety protocols and standard operating procedures for boiler and turbine systems.
- In-depth understanding of power generation processes.
