Job Overview

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing engineering materials, equipment, and services for oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas procurement landscape, global sourcing practices, supplier management, and electronic procurement systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source engineering materials, equipment, and services from local and international suppliers.
  • Identify and evaluate reliable vendors based on quality, pricing, delivery, and compliance.
  • Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage procurement activities.
  • Coordinate procurement processes for oil and gas projects.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain procurement records and supplier databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and industry standards.
  • Utilize procurement platforms such as ARIBA, SMART GEP, and similar systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, logistics, and project teams to support procurement requirements.
  • Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in procurement within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international sourcing practices.
  • Experience procuring engineering materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency in ARIBA, SMART GEP, or similar procurement platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
