The Australia Awards Fellowships is a prestigious program jointly managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research. The fellowship aims to strengthen ties between Australia and its partner countries by providing high-quality training, knowledge exchange, and professional development opportunities. • Infrastructure and Connectivity

Benefits:

• Maximum Funding: $34,500 per Fellow
• Covered Costs:
  • Round-trip airfare to Australia and in-country travel
  • Accommodation and living allowance
  • Health insurance (Overseas Student Health Cover)
  • Visa and residency fees
  • Program overhead fees (up to 10% of DFAT funds, capped at $25,000)
  • Additional assistance for Fellows with disabilities
  • Partner country activities (travel, accommodation, course delivery)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a resident of an eligible country (list below).
• Not a permanent resident of Australia.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Physically capable of participating in the Fellowship.
• Not an active-duty military member.
• Must meet all visa requirements for student visa subclass 500.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Must be able to travel without family members.

• Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam
• South Asia and Middle East: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iraq, Jordan, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka
• Pacific: Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna
• Africa: Botswana, DRC, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
• Caribbean: Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname
• Europe: Ukraine
