Senior Facilities Engineer at Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL)

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) is a leading oil producer and investor in Nigeria, operating in joint ventures with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in both onshore and offshore assets in the Niger Delta. We are heavily involved in deepwater operations, including the Agbami Field, one of Nigeria’s largest discoveries, and hold a nonoperated interest in the Usan Field.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to provide general facilities, projects, and operations support. This role requires expertise in multiple engineering disciplines, including process, mechanical, electrical, pipeline, instrumentation, and civil/structural engineering. You will manage small to large capital projects, support business operations, and contribute to design and construction efforts for new and existing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage small to mid-size capital projects from design to execution, including pipeline installation and equipment commissioning.
  • Field Construction: Oversee field construction work, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and manage technical documents (P&IDs, specs, etc.).
  • Reliability & Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot equipment reliability issues, conducting root cause analyses to optimize production performance.
  • Asset Integrity: Lead asset integrity activities, focusing on pipeline inspection and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with regulatory bodies, JV partners, and cross-functional teams to drive project success.
  • Design & Engineering: Provide technical expertise for the design and review of complex systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Construction Leadership: Lead construction teams, oversee safety plans, and approve design changes in the field.
  • Cost & Schedule Management: Prepare and manage project cost estimates and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualifications:
    • B.Sc. Degree in Engineering (Master’s degree and professional certifications are an advantage).
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in facilities, projects, and operations support.
  • Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge in oil and gas operations, including deepwater, onshore, and offshore projects.
    • Extensive experience in process safety hazards and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Expertise in cost estimating, project scheduling, and capital project management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
    • Proficiency in managing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating with third-party contractors.
    • Digital innovation skills, including leveraging technology for efficiency and value creation.
  • Additional Experience:
    • Experience in working with industry regulators, JV and PSC partners.
    • Familiarity with refinery or complex processing facilities is a plus.
