Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Develop and enforce HSE policies related to workplace safety, environmental management, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Perform risk assessments for processes and equipment to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Develop and maintain emergency response protocols, ensuring all employees are properly trained.
• Lead investigations into workplace incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations, such as OSHA and EPA standards.
• Design and deliver safety training programs, including the proper use of PPE, chemical safety, and emergency procedures.
• Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in line with environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and safety violations.
• Ensure employees wear appropriate PPE and that equipment for hazardous substances is maintained.
• Conduct regular safety drills, such as fire drills and chemical spill response exercises.
• Monitor air and water quality, ensuring emissions and discharges comply with environmental standards.
• Ensure contractors and visitors follow on-site HSE protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on HSE performance and compliance.
• Possess excellent communication skills and knowledge of local legislative requirements for the chemical industry.
• Demonstrate experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and 45001:2018b standards, including audits.

Requirements:

• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CIEH, IOSH.
• Membership in ISPON.
• Well-grounded knowledge of ISO standards.

Salary:

₦150,000 – ₦200,000 monthly
