Job Summary
The Machinery Engineer/Specialist I will evaluate and provide input on engineering tasks to ensure compliance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves coordination, technical reviews, and effective communication to align engineering designs with company objectives and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate discipline engineering technical tasks.
- Ensure Contractor and sub-contractor work aligns with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review discipline design drawings and documents for compliance.
- Manage deviations to contract technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Steward technical queries from Contractors and sub-contractors.
- Communicate discipline engineering progress and concerns to the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.
- Participate in engineering reviews at contractor or sub-contractor locations.
- Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
- Support internal engineering initiatives as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in English, particularly for technical and business communication.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Specific Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience aboard a tanker, FSO/FPSO as a marine engineer.
- Minimum qualification: OOW Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) and associated mandatory certificates.
